Veneto Villas in Bruxelles

The Associazione Ville Venete opened in Bruxelles an office for the contacts with community institutions. The structure was presented at the Italian Institute of Culture, and will work as a connection between the European commitments for the safeguarding of the various national artistic heritages and the commitment of the Associazione Ville Venete, which, despite the name, manages the restoration and the safeguarding of dozens of works in Veneto, Trentino and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
For the manager of the Italian Institute of Culture in Bruxelles, Sira Miori, the "villas" have marked an important stage in the evolution of European architecture and Italian art, owing to architects such as Falconetto, Palladio, Sansovino, Sanmicheli or artists such as Veronese or Tiepolo.
Lordly manors expression of history and culture tied into the events of the Venetian republic, and further to Italian and European history until the present day; places for the diffusion of the humanist philosophy of the 16th century as well as literary and cultural movements in the 18th and 19th centuries.
