This year, once again, Italian communities have celebrated the anniversary of the Foundation of the Italian Republic (2nd June 1946) in Argentina, in the same period as "Italian Immigration into Argentina" day, a celebration all Italians resident in Argentina like to take part in, and which takes place on the 3rd of June.
The most important party took place at the Teatro Coliseo, one of the main theatres in Argentina in the city of Buenos Aires. The gathering saw the participation, among others, of Vincenzo Palladino, Italian Consul in Argentina, with the Head of Government for the Province of Buenos Aires, Anibal Ibarra and the Senator Pedro Del Piero, both of Italian origin.
During the celebrations there were many Italian songs rendered by popular singers, leaving the scene later to the choirs of the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro and the Olivos Cultural Centre.
The celebration continued with performances by the members of the Associazione Friulana from Castelmonte who had prepared the traditional dances from the Friuli region for this festival.
The ambassador, Giovanni Jannuzzi, could not take part at this meeting organised by the Italian communities in the city of Buenos Aires this year, because other commemorative festivals were organised in the rest of Argentina. This year it was the city of Rosario’s turn to enjoy the presence of the Ambassador.
